This week, we listen to chapter 2 of How to Leash a Thief, book 1 of the Steely & Cuff Mysteries. In episode 1, we listened to chapter 1. We learn the night janitor of Steely's dog-grooming shop, Samson, is murdered. Steely also receives a text from her head groomer, Daniel, telling her he thinks he may have left the door unlocked. Steely heads to her shop to check the door, see if she can discover any clues to Samson's murder, and locate his big dog, Virgil. When she arrives at her shop, the scene of the murder, there is no sign of police activity. Despite her hesitation, Steely musters all her courage and follows through with what she intended to do. Is she successful? Can she locate Samson's dog, Virgil? Does she run into trouble? Tune in to find out!

Welcome! I’m Cat Clayton and deep in the heart of Texas my curiosity quills the crime. My humorous mysteries feature an amateur sleuth surrounded by a quirky cast of characters. They have a Nancy Drew meets the small-town south kind of vibe. Some say they’re like book versions of the Hallmark mystery movies. Being a Hallmark fan, I take the description as a compliment. Tune in for the first chapter of How to Leash a Thief, book one of the Steely & Cuff Mysteries. Enjoy!

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, I thought about different ways I could show gratitude to my readers. Write a new book in my series? Two books? Write a giveaway novella or a post a weekly serial story? (I did write the 4th book in my series.) But I needed the idea to be different, innovative. I wanted it to be free. Fun. And a way to pass the hours curled up in a comfy spot, sipping a warm beverage during such an unparalleled and difficult time. This podcast is the result of my efforts. It is my gift to you, dear readers. Now, settle in, and let me tell you a few stories.

Iphone_trans Listening to podcasts on your mobile devices is extremely convenient -- and it's what makes the podcasting medium so powerful.

You can take your favorite shows and mixes with you anywhere, but to do so requires some quick and simple steps.

Let's walk you through that process together.
step 1:

Click the "Subscribe With iTunes" link in the page's sidebar:

Subscribe_with_itunes

This will require that you have the iTunes software on your computer.

(You can download iTunes here.)
step 2:
Itunes_ss

Now that you've subscribed to the podcast on iTunes, the feed will display in your "Podcasts" section on the left navigation bar.

Click there and you'll see the show displayed in the iTunes browser.

You can "get all" to download all available episodes or just individual episodes.
step 3:

Plug your mobile device (iPhone, iPad, iPod) into your computer with the Dock Connector cable, and click the device in iTunes's left navigation bar.

Itunes_ss2

Once you have your device highlighted, click "Podcasts" in the top navigation bar and sync the podcasts you want on your device. Click "apply" and the episodes you have downloaded on your iTunes software will sync with your device.
that's it!

The beauty of this process is that now, every new episode of your subscribed podcasts will automatically sync to your device every time you plug it in and open iTunes. You can now take your favorite shows with you everywhere you go.
